Below is a summary of Washington law on DUI;

License Suspension 1st Offense: 90 days

License Suspension 2nd Offense: 2 years

License Suspension 3rd Offense: 3 years

Mandatory Jail Time after 2nd offense and your vehicle may be seized.  The impoundment may be temporarily to permanently.  In Washington there is mandatory alcohol education program and an assessment of the offenders drinking level. If the evaluation finds the offender to be alcohol dependent treatment would be mandated.  You may face possible ignition interlock, a machine that you would be responsible for the cost of the installation and maintenance.  The device detects the sense of alcohol on the driver.  The driver must blow into the device in order to start and keep the car in motion. Open alcohol container law is for driver and passengers.  Implied consent law commands you to take a breath, blood or urine sample if suspected of DUI.
'Per Se' blood alcohol level is .08.  Zero tolerance law for 21 years old and younger must have no more then a blood alcohol content level of .02.  An enhanced penalty would be given to those with a blood alcohol level of .15, speeding over a certain limit, having a traffic accident, having previous convictions, having minors in the car, and refusal to take breath, blood or urine sample.  After 30 days in Washington you can apply for hardship license if you can prove special hardship.  This is to get some driving privileges restored while still under suspension.
