Here are highlights from Oregon law on drinking and driving;

'Per Se' BAC level is .08.  There is a zero tolerance blood alcohol level for people age 21 and younger, therefore BAC level must be .00.  If suspected of DUI you must submit to breath, blood or urine sample under the implied consent law.  In the state of Oregon you can face possible ignition interlock, a machine that is connected to your vehicle’s ignition that detects alcohol on the driver.  The driver must pay for the cost of installation and maintenance of the device.  There is an open alcohol container law that is for both driver and passengers.  Possible vehicle confiscation were your car is impounded temporary or permanently.  Mandatory jail time is given after second offense.  Participation in mandatory alcohol education program and assessment of offenders drinking level with treatment to follow if found dependent on alcohol.  First offense your license is suspended for 90 days, second and third offense is for 1 year.  After 30 days the offender can apply for hardship license and may have their driving privileges restored while still under suspension.
