Here are highlights from Maryland law on driving while under the influence;

In the State of Maryland if you are suspected of drinking and driving and is asked to take a blood, breath or an urine sample and refuse, you can face a 1 year suspension of your license.  If you are 21 years of age or younger you must have no more then .02 blood alcohol content in your system under the zero tolerance law.  Anyone over the age of 21 must not have more than .08 BAC.
There is an open container law for both driver and passenger.  You may face possible ignition interlock which you would be required to pay for the cost and maintenance of the machine.  The machine is hooked up to your ignition and will not start or will stop if you blow into the machine and it detects any trace of alcohol in your system.  You may apply for a hardship licence and gain some driving privileges while under license suspension.  License Suspension 1st Offense: 60 days.  License Suspension 2nd Offense: 120 days and mandatory jail time.  License Suspension 3rd Offense: Varies
