Here are highlights from Georgia law on driving under the influence.

'Per Se' BAC Level .08, Zero Tolerance BAC Level .02, Enhanced Penalty BAC Level  .15.  Georgia also has an implied consent law.

Georgia has a mandatory licence suspension of one year for the first offence, three years for the second offence, and five years for the third offence.  There is mandatory jail time from the second offence and on, and after your fourth offence in Georgia, your vehicle may be suspended. 

The offender may be instructed to enter into mandatory alcohol education, as well as mandatory assessment that could follow in treatment for alcohol dependency.

In Georgia if convicted of a drunk driving offence a hardship licence may be granted if the convicted person is the sole or main provider of income and needs a licence.  This is only for the person to go to work and back to their residence.

A convicted person may also be asked to undergo ignition interlock, which in turn senses the presence of alcohol on the driver, and disables the vehicles engine if alcohol is present.

Georgia also has a zero tolerance policy for open containers of alcohol on the possession of the driver or any passenger.
