Here are some highlights of Alaska law towards driving under the influence;

BAC level .08 all person under the age of 21 is zero tolerance, no amount of  alcohol in system.
Enhanced Penalty BAC level is .16 increased penalties for dunk driving are increased for many factors such as refusing to take a chemical test-breath, blood or urine, having a traffic accident, having prior convictions, driving with minors in the car or driving over a certain speed. 

Implied consent law makes it mandatory for driver to take chemical test, if refused mandatory suspension of drivers license for 1 year.

License suspension on 1st offense is 90 days, 2nd offense is 1 year and as a repeat offender mandatory jail time, mandatory alcohol education/assessment/treatment.  Possible ignition interlock - a machine that is connected to your car and checks for alcohol in the driver.  Possible vehicle confiscation- your car can be seized and the impoundment of your vehicle can be either permanent or temporary.

Hardship license while license is suspended after 30 days- privileges can be given if proven special hardship such as being the sole support of their families.  Privileges often are driving only to work and back.

Only the driver is effected by the open container law.
